0.0.5 Update: Quests!
The new 0.0.5 update is here! The main and biggest feature - Quests! Hopefully the start of a very big and complex system. Right now it's taking 10 minutes+ to complete all quests and get the ability to do anything you want. It is currently made so you will learn how systems work and what features this Demo has. I have some improvements and ideas for the future in mind, but for now, I would love to hear feedback on this system if there are any bugs, or problems.
A list of all changes is here:
Big Changes
- Moved game to the Itch io to act as a place to download and find information about the game.
- Quest system for 10+ minute gameplay!
- The first Parkour challenge
- Added 10 eastern eggs on the whole map (for now with no purpose)
- FPS Counter available (enable it in the settings), not perfect if you have RTX 3000+ - better use different software to get 100% results)
Small Changes
- New sounds
- Images in the hotbar and items in the hand are appearing now after getting access to the corresponding feature from quests
- Added overview video of the previous version to the Main menu
- Fixed Main Menu video background (in previous versions you might not have it)
- Fixed the wrong value of blocks on the right side when you don't have any blocks in the inventory
- Fixed bug when you can't build if you have 256 blocks in inventory (it was "resetting" count every 256 blocks)
- Fixed inventory bug when hotbars were filling with blocks when inventory was full
- Fixed wrong collision on the restricting sphere to prevent the player from slipping through it
- Fixed mining quests when you disable physical destruction in the settings
- Progress on the quests now should be saved with your save file
- The credits menu is updated with new names!
- Fixed torches placement on the map as well as torch preview placement
- Reduced brightness of the torch in the hand
Environment Changes:
- Enormous cave - not finished yet, it's too big
- Added the first parkour (at the entrance of the cave)
- Trees all around the map
FPS: 170-190 (170-200) on my PC (RTX 4090, Ryzen 5 5950X and 128 GB RAM)
Developing time - 222 hours, + 42 hours.
